How to Add a Categorized Image Gallery to a Notion Page.

This widget changes height while someone is using it: opening a row, switching a tab, or filtering down a list. The Notion embed box does not grow to follow it, because you set that box by hand. Size it for the widget's fully open state, not the state it loads in, or the extra content ends up scrolling inside the frame instead of pushing the page down.

Check it at phone width before you call it done. A row that sits on one line on a laptop often wraps to three on a phone, and that is where a frame sized on a desktop runs short.

Opening a tile shows a preview overlay. It is positioned against the widget's own frame rather than the page behind it, so it can only ever fill the embed box, not darken the whole screen the way a lightbox on a normal site would. Give the frame enough height that the preview has somewhere to open.

The category buttons change how many tiles are on screen, so the height moves as visitors filter. The tallest category is the one to size against.
